Are you for or against using animals for
medical research?
At the moment, scientists are using animal for
research. Usually the most used are mice and rats, use them check at the
effects of some drugs because their organs are very similar to those of humans.
Nevertheless there are many options for and against this practice.
One of the arguments for using animals for the medical
research is animal testing has helped make vaccines to cure serious diseases. Now,
we can do operations such as transplants, and, they can be done because we have
experienced with animals. Moreover, animals are not people and human life is
more valuable than animal life.
On the other hand, animals suffer when we use them to
investigate and they have the same right to live as human beings. Animal
testing can be misleading providing that doesn’t go well with humans in
addition; the stress that animals can suffer in the laboratory may affect the
results.
All in all, I am in favour of research with animals. I
believe animals are young heroes that die because we can progress in medicine
and cure diseases.
